Dorm Room Planning & Organization

As graduation season comes to an end, we are now moving into making plans for those college dorm rooms.  I have received several request this week to share tips on planning, decorating and organizing dorm rooms.  These request came at the perfect time!  My cousin is getting ready to attend college this Fall and asked me to decorate and organize her dorm room.
I know that a lot of people think that a dorm isn’t a very nice place to stay because they have a tendency to be small and dull. I know that my niece met someone who was a Cultural Care Au Pair when she had her trial day at college and when she found out she would be staying at a nice big home and not the dorms, my cousin got envious of her!
But I want to do everything I can to stop my cousin feeling like her dorm is dull and boring, I want to make it fun and organised for her. In the video below I share with you my first steps in getting this mission accomplished.  I hope you enjoy the video.

In the U.S. many drugs are sold only with a prescription (antibiotics, blood pressure medications, asthma, etc.). You can canadianclinic1.com get it by making an appointment with a U.S. doctor. But there are also medicines that you can buy without a prescription. These medications are usually easiest to find in pharmacies located in large supermarkets like Walgreens and Walmart.

Nikki, my daughter is heading to college in the fall so this video is perfect. Will you please tell me what software program you use to make the design board. Are you just cutting and pasting Internet photos onto a blank document?

  2. Nikki, I love the way you’ve organized this project! Your Shopping List and Budget form is wonderful! I could have used that when I was helping my girls plan for their first apartment. I will definitely print it out for when they move again, or even for doing room make overs in my own home! Thank you so much for sharing your process!

This sounds like fun Nikki! I can’t wait to see how the dorm room turns out. My son left for college last year and he had a dorm apt. 4 guys, two bedrooms, one bath and the common areas-living room and kitchen. This year he will have his own apartment. I guess it isn’t as big of a deal with boys to do their dorm room. He just hung movie posters he got from the movie theater he works at. lol Hugs Brenda

I would love it if you would respond to my comment on the making of the design board. I would like so much to make this for my daughters dorm room.

  5. Ollie says:

Something for your cousin to consider is having one or two storage bins for the refrigerator with her name on them to avoid confession. My daughter experience that last summer with three other young ladies in a suite,

  6. Brenda says:

Great ideas, Nikki! Love the printable forms you provided, and plan to use them when we redo a room in our house or I help my daughters with their next apartment. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey! I really like the printables you made but when I click on the link for the printables they lead me to an error. I am wondering if this is normal?
